The island of Pemba has her first doctor!

Great satisfaction: the Island of Pemba is celebrating its first graduate in medicine! Ally Habib, born in 1971, thanks to the support of the Foundation Ivo de Carneri and the Compagnia di San Paolo, in late 2014 he graduated in Medicine with honors from the International Medical and Technological University in Dar es Salaamin Tanzania. Below is a brief biography; Married, four children, Abib comes from the small village of Kivugo-Shengejuu, Wete district in the north of the island of Pemba. Fourth of five children, Habib with many sacrifices of the family and with his determination, he was able to proceed in studies. After finished secondary school, he studied nursing at Machame Moshi in Tanzania and immediately found work at the Ministry of Health of Zanzibar and simultaneously follows the course of Assistant Medical Officer in Bugando Hospital in Mwanza and then takes just at the 'Hospital of the District of Chake Chake, where he highlighted the technical preparation, the attachment to the work and the sense of responsibility. The Foundation was 2007, at the request of the Ministry of Health supported the local surgery service of the Hospital thanks all'avvicendamento with Italian surgeons, including, however, that the only way to improve the Local Health Service was to train staff of the place. Abib, was admitted to the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the International Medical and Technological University of Dar es Salaam, graduating successfully in December 2014. There he pictured visibly moved on the day of his graduation. Habib is completing an internship at the Regional Hospital in Morogoro, Tanzania, and will soon be ready for his "mission" as a doctor for his community.
